It can be difficult for beginners to tell if their certified yoni eggs are genuine or fake, especially if purchasing GIA-certified yoni eggs for the first time. Unfortunately, there are many fake yoni eggs that are sold on the market today. At Kegglers, we are committed to offering high-quality yoni eggs that are genuine. For this reason, we love educating our clients and readers as we believe that this is the best way to promote awareness.

Yoni eggs or jade yoni eggs are a great way to enhance Kegel exercises. These exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Stronger vaginal muscles help to alleviate issues such as incontinence, bladder control, and general wellness. These gemstone yoni eggs also help with chakra healing through their crystal healing properties. Many women have reported that yoni eggs help to connect them to feminine energy.

What Are Fake Yoni Eggs?

Fake yoni eggs refer to yoni eggs that are made from fake gemstones. There are no crystal healing properties as the egg is not made from a real crystal. These fake eggs can be made from glass or gems that have been altered and processed, taking away the energy of the stone. Fake yoni eggs are common. Knowing how to spot them not only saves you money but also plays an important role in your safety.

Each healing crystal has different densities, as measured by the Mohs hardness scale. Gemstones that are carved and polished into yoni eggs must be dense enough. This reduces the likelihood of the egg cracking or chipping. These factors are important as it prevents the accumulation of bacteria in the egg. In turn, it helps to prevent infections when you use your yoni egg

Fake Vs Genuine Yoni Eggs

Genuine crystals are natural and unique. They should not be altered besides basic carving and polishing before use. Besides making sure your yoni eggs are GIA certified, some factors to look out for include:

Colors

As much as we love bright colors that seem perfect, it rarely occurs in nature. Genuine eggs have gentle colors. Even if there is a pop of color, the brightness will not be blinding. If you notice that your amethyst is bright purple or citrine looking like a ray of sunshine, it may just be a dyed crystal.

To spot a genuine citrine stone, look for one that has a light lemon color. Although heat-treated crystals are not genuine, they still hold energy as modified crystals. They just don’t have the same energy as the one you think you are getting. Note that some genuine crystals such as Carnelian, Black Obsidian, and Red Jasper do have strong colors.

Look and Feel

Once you receive your yoni egg, take a good look at it. Glass is often used as a substitute for crystals. For clear crystals such as clear quartz, look at your egg carefully. Clear quartz eggs should be clear and natural-looking. However, it is rare to have a perfect stone that is crystal clear. This is a sign that it could be made from glass. Crystals are also heavier than glass. If your yoni egg feels lighter than expected, it could be made from glass.

Symmetry

As established before, nature is rarely perfect. The little differences are what make nature unique and beautiful. Just like each individual, every crystal is unique. When you look at your yoni egg, look for the little differences that make it one of a kind. Look at the veins and flecks in the stone. If your stone appears to be symmetrical, it may not be genuine.

Air Bubbles

If you look at marbles, some of them will have air bubbles trapped inside. These air bubbles are an excellent clue that the material is glass. While crystals contain imperfections, they do not usually contain air bubbles. If you see air bubbles in your yoni egg, it may have been made from glass.

Mohs Hardness Scale

Mohs hardness scale is an excellent way of determining if your egg is genuine. Each gem has a different density. For example, quartz measures about 7 on the scale. Instead, glass has about a scale of 5. You can easily look up the different hardness scales for each crystal online. Here are some examples of the hardness scale for the following yoni egg types:

Which Gems Are Most Often Passed Off As Fakes?

Some gems are more easily swapped out compared to others. Here are some crystal yoni eggs that you should take a closer look at when buying them:

Amethyst

Amethyst is one of the most popular crystals. Due to its popularity, fake amethysts are common. Look for amethyst that has different shades of purple. A uniformed appearance tends to be more suspicious. Genuine amethyst measures a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Clear Quartz

There are many members of the crystal quartz family. Ranging from clear quartz to rose quartz stone, each semi-precious stone has its own unique properties. Quartz is a crystal that is easily faked due to its glass-like appearance. To spot genuine quartz, check that there are no air bubbles. Blemishes and blots are natural and provide assurance that it is authentic. Quartz crystals should not appear perfect or clear.

Turquoise

Real turquoise is hard to source. Therefore, most gems marketed as turquoise are dyed Howlite stones. It is estimated that only about 10% of turquoise gems are genuine. Despite this, Howlite has just as many advantages as genuine turquoise. Howlite that has been dyed to look like turquoise has a uniform color instead of changing shades.

Conclusion

Always remember that crystals have vibrations that offer healing. As each crystal yoni egg is unique, you are connecting with them like an individual. Crystal healing is a personal journey. If you have a crystal that you have bonded with, there is no reason to love it less even if it has not turned out to be genuine. Trust your intuition and continue your journey by making wiser choices in the future.
